Former Premier League star Mario Balotelli was involved in a car accident in Brescia and it is reported that the footballer walked away from the accident with difficulty.

The striker has often appeared in the media for the wrong reasons and it looks like this is another story to add to his collection.

According to a local Italian police official, Balotelli refused to take a breathalyser test in the aftermath of the crash and it is believed that the Italian walked away from the accident with great difficulty, reports El Partidazo de COPE.

The former Man City star was thankfully not seriously injured as more details will likely be released involving his crash soon.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has claimed that Newcastle United deserved to feel a degree of hurt after getting it wrong with the summer transfer window signing of Sandro Tonali.

The Italy international joined Newcastle from AC Milan over the summer but played just eight Premier League games for the club before receiving a lengthy ban from playing, related to a gambling addiction.

TalkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor believes no player returning from international duty should be tired for Man City and Liverpool’s huge Premier League clash on Saturday.

There has been a lot of talk in the build-up to the clash at the Etihad Stadium due to the 12:30 kick-off time, a slot Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has often complained about due to his South American stars having to travel all the way back from the continent.

The chances of injury are increased with the lack of recovery time and Man City have stars of their own coming back from South America, but Agbonlahor believes that the way modern players travel leaves them with no excuse.

“They’re not coming back on an easyJet flight, like Simon (Jordan) says, with no legroom. They are on private jets, with private masseurs giving them massages on the way back, the best sort of food on the plane,” the talkSPORT pundit said on Thursday morning.

Liverpool ace Cody Gakpo got himself on the score sheet for the Netherlands against Gibraltar, as they hit the hosts for six.

The match was another humbling experience for Gibraltar, given that their latest heavy defeat came in the immediate aftermath of a 14-0 loss to France.

Gakpo’s speculative finish owed much to the chaos in the box as it did to the flight of the ball, Gibraltar’s defence and goalkeeper completely bamboozled as Gakpo floated one in from outside the box, and which sailed straight in without another touch.

Turkey’s Yusuf Yazici was the calmest man in the place as he coolly dispatched a late penalty that’s likely to spell the end of Wales’ Euro 2024 hopes.

Neco Williams had given the hosts a vital first-half lead, and Wales looked comfortable for the most part.

After only conceding one goal in their entire Euro 2024 campaign before playing Greece, Fotis Ioannidis made sure France had shipped another two by the hour mark in their qualifier.

Randal Kolo Muani had opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, but the visitors were pegged back by two goals in five second-half minutes from the hosts.

Anastasios Bakasetas had equalised on 56 before Ioannidis sent the home support wild as France’s defence stood like statues in the penalty area.

Randal Kolo Muani certainly delivered in emphatic style for France in their Euro 2024 qualifiers.

It took a while for the deadlock to be broken in Greece, but when the goal arrived it was magnificent.

The ball was worked out to Kolo Muani down France’s right side, and he unleashed an unstoppable Exocet into the roof of the net.

If the score remains the same, France will have qualified for Euro 2024 with a perfect eight wins from eight and only one goal conceded.

A 14-0 hammering against France will have hurt badly, so playing against another accomplished European side in the Dutch isn’t what Gibraltar needed in their very next game.

The opening exchanges had been keenly contested by both sides, and it was a quality strike from Williams that opened the scoring.
