Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with an exit from the club in recent months.

The 28-year-old is no longer a key starter for the North London outfit and he needs to move on and search of regular football. Clubs like Juventus and Atletico Madrid have been linked with him in recent weeks and it seems that Ajax have now joined the race.

A report from Voetbal International claims that the Dutch outfit are looking to bring in midfield reinforcements and they have identified the 28-year-old Tottenham midfielder as an option.

It will be interesting to see if they can agree on a fee with Spurs during the January transfer window.

Hojbjerg is an expendable asset for the Premier League club and it would not be a surprise if they decided to cash in on him midway through the season. The funds from his sale will allow them to bring in their own signings during the January window.

Tottenham must prioritise the signing of a quality central defender and a striker during the winter transfer window. They have started the season well and they will need quality additions in order to sustain their form and secure Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile, Hojbjerg has proven himself in the Premier League over the years and he would be a quality acquisition for Ajax. He could establish himself as one of the best midfielders in the Eredivisie and he will help Ajax win major trophies in the coming seasons.

The Tottenham team for the Saturday lunchtime kick-off against Wolverhampton Wanderers was always going to be a much changed XI for Ange Postecoglou.

Premier League table toppers until their loss last weekend against Chelsea, the Australian has, nevertheless, picked an attacking XI once more, showing that he won’t change his playing principles even if the football Gods are determined to do their best to challenge that.

Out go the injured James Maddison and Micky van de Ven as well as the suspended pairing of Destiny Udogie and Cristian Romero, and in come Eric Dier, Ben Davies, Emerson Royal and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The visitors to Molineux will go back to the top of the table with a victory, and will stay there until at least Sunday afternoon when Man City head to Stamford Bridge.

If Pep Guardiola’s side fail to secure all three points against Chelsea, Spurs will remain at the top until the next match day.

Wolves will surely have something to say about the situation, however.

Aside from the loss last time out against Sheffield United, they’ve drawn with Newcastle and Aston Villa and beaten Man City, so they’ll be no pushovers.

Were they to emerge victorious, Wolves could move up a couple of places and see Spurs slide down two if other results go against them.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months.

The 28-year-old has dropped down the pecking order since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou and he needs to play regularly at this stage of his career.

A report from Italian publication La Stampa claims that the player already has an agreement with Juventus and Atletico Madrid to join them. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can come to an agreement with Tottenham now.

The North London outfit are demanding a fee of around €30 million for the midfielder. Hojbjerg has proven himself in the Premier League over the years and he should prove to be a quality acquisition for the two clubs.

Juventus need to find an alternative to Paul Pogba and Hojbjerg certainly fits the profile. As far as Atletico Madrid are concerned, the 28-year-old Denmark international would be a good fit for their conservative approach.

The reported asking price seems reasonable in today’s market for a player of his quality. The 28-year-old is at the peak of his powers and he could make an immediate impact at Atletico Madrid or Juventus.

He has been a key player for Tottenham since joining the club and the signing could prove to be a bargain for the reported asking price.

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham are prepared to sanction his departure during the January transfer window. They will have to bring in a quality replacement as well. They are chasing Champions League qualification this season and they cannot afford to weaken their squad..

Transfer news expert for Fabrizio Romano has stated that Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg is looking for a move away from the club this January.

Speaking in the video below on TikTok, Romano explained that Man Utd considered Hojbjerg in the summer, though they ended up making Sofyan Amrabat their first choice, signing him on loan from Fiorentina.

Still, as per Romano’s latest update below, there is still a chance for the Denmark international to leave Spurs this January, with Juventus supposedly among his admirers…

@fabrizioromano READY TO LEAVE IN 2024 👀 #FabrizioRomano #HereWeGo #Tottenham ♬ Love You So – The King Khan & BBQ Show

One imagines we won’t see United coming back in for Hojbjerg this winter after filling that midfield role with Amrabat, though it will be interesting to see where the player ends up, as it seems increasingly unlikely he’ll be at Tottenham for much longer.

The 28-year-old previously looked more of a key player for the north London side, but he’s now out of favour so he’d surely do well to find a new club when the opportunity arises again in January.

With Tottenham flying high at the top of the Premier League table, it’s hard to make a case against the way that Ange Postecoglou has gone about his work.

The Australian’s simple and forthright manner has won him a legion of admirers, with the way in which his Spurs side play football only adding to the 58-year-old’s allure.

One player who arguably won’t be rushing to congratulate his manager is Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

The 28-year-old hasn’t been given a chance to show Postecoglou what he can do, with his appearances being restricted to one in the Carabao Cup and seven sub appearances in the Premier League for a total of just 247 minutes per WhoScored.

That’s less than three total matches and is clearly unworkable for the Danish international.

Fortunately, help may be at hand thanks to Italian giants, Juventus, who are in dire need of a central midfielder after Paul Pogba’s positive drug test was confirmed.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi is also a target for the Bianconeri, and the capture of both players in January would allow Maximiliano Allegri to adopt a new 3-5-2 formation.

Though there’s still two and a half months until the window opens for business, the knowledge that he has an opportunity to escape from his White Hart Lane hell will surely appeal to Hojbjerg.

Thursday is a hugely important day for Paul Pogba and Juventus, and the outcome of the French World Cup winner’s B sample, to show whether he has used a banned substance or not, will determine what happens next – which could also affect Tottenham.

Pogba has been suspended as a precautionary measure by the Anti-Doping Tribunal since September 11, after testosterone was found in his initial urine test.

The second test will either confirm this or reverse the initial findings.

Both Juventus and Pogba will surely be hoping for the latter, though if it is confirmed, the likelihood is that the 30-year-old will be banned for a significant period. It might even spell the end of his career at the elite level of football.

It’s perhaps with the latter in mind that the Bianconeri are apparently running the rule over possible replacements, and one player of interest to them is Tottenham’s out-of-favour ace, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The outlet suggest that the north Londoners want £26m for the 28-year-old, a figure that should be well within the reach of Serie A’s Old Lady.

It’s a potential deal that would likely suit Ange Postecoglou too, given that the player has been a peripheral figure since the Australian took charge at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has been linked with a move away from the club.

A report from Corriere Dello Sport (h/t SportWitness) claims that Manchester United are keeping tabs on the 28-year-old Denmark international.

Hojbjerg has fallen down the pecking order at Spurs since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou and he could look to move on in search of regular game time.

Clubs like to Juventus and Atletico Madrid are reportedly keen on securing his services and it remains to be seen where he ends up.

Hojbjerg has a contract with Spurs until the summer of 2025 and the Londoners value the player at €30 million. Manchester United could certainly use a quality central midfielder and they certainly have the resources to get the deal across the line.

The 28-year-old could be tempted to join a big club like Manchester United and the Red Devils will be able to provide him with Champions League football as well.

It will be interesting to see if the North London outfit are prepared to sell an important squad member to a direct top-four rival midway through the campaign.

Hojbjerg has proven himself in the Premier League with clubs like Tottenham Hotspur and Southampton. He could make an immediate impact at Old Trafford as well.

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United can beat the competition from clubs like Atletico Madrid and Juventus to secure the signature of the Denmark international.

Paul Pogba’s Juventus career remains in the balance at present after he was suspended earlier this season because of a positive drug test.

JuveFC note that the French World Cup winner is waiting for the results of a counter analysis of the test, requested by the player himself in the hope of clearing his name.

Regardless of the outcome, the outlet note Juve’s active search for a replacement in the January transfer window, and they also quote Il Bianconero as suggesting there has been a significant lapse of contact between Pogba and officials at the club.

Such a scenario hardly bodes well for Pogba who may find that at 30 years of age his career at the elite level of football is over, should he be banned.

According to Calciomercato.com, a current Tottenham Hotspur outcast could be the answer to Juve’s potential problems.

They name Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as the perfect replacement though a £30m fee is likely to prove too prohibitive in January and, given their potentially urgent need, Juve can’t wait until the summer when, with just a year left on his contract by then, Hojbjerg’s price is likely to fall.

A loan move with compulsory purchase option in the winter window might be a solution that suits all parties, except of course Pogba, who may find future employment in the game hard to come by if he’s found guilty.
