Wilfried Gnonto could be one name that leaves Leeds in January as the winger is wanted by several clubs after making it clear over the summer that he wants to leave the Championship side. 

The Italian star handed in a transfer request during the summer transfer window following the Yorkshire club’s relegation to the Championship and the pursuit of Everton.

However, the move never materialised and Gnonto stayed but is not a key figure for Daniel Farke. The Italy international’s game-time has been limited so far this season at Elland Road, with featuring only 10 times for Leeds and bagging one goal.

Everton will likely be back in for Gnonto in January and Lazio are another club recently reported to be interested in the 20-year-old.

Should he leave Leeds, the Whites will go after a player they have had a long-term interest in. TeamTalk states that the Yorkshire club are keeping tabs on Fenerbahce winger Ryan Kent, who is expected to be made available for loan in January.

The outlet also claims that Bournemouth are set to battle it out with Leeds for the 27-year-old’s signature but the Championship side’s interest all depends on what happened with Gnonto.

Just one point and one place separates Leeds United from the Premier League’s bottom three, but that hasn’t stopped them maintaining an interest in a former Liverpool flop.

Javi Gracia is clearly intent on the Yorkshire-based outfit extending their top-flight status for at least another season, which is laudable, but with fixtures to come against Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City, Newcastle and Tottenham amongst others, it’s going to be all hands to the pump at Elland Road.

One of the players that is already being earmarked as a possible summer arrival is Rangers’ Ryan Kent.

The former Liverpool winger sees his contract run out at Ibrox this summer according to Football Insider, and the fact he will be available on a free transfer is of obvious benefit to Leeds.

Though a drop down into the Championship wouldn’t necessarily rule out a deal either, it’s clear that Gracia would be in a much better position to offer Kent a lucrative contract if Leeds remain in the Premier League.

From the player’s point of view, because of the experience he had at Liverpool, he’ll still have a point to prove, and there’s no better feeling than to be able to get one over on your old employers.

Leeds United are reportedly stepping up their interest in the potential January signing of Rangers midfielder Ryan Kent.

Kent started his career as a youngster at Liverpool, but had to leave for the Scottish Premiership to play more regularly.

Now it could be that he’ll be heading back to England, with Leeds eyeing him up as one of their top targets to come in in the winter window.

According to the Mirror, there is also interest from Aston Villa, who are managed by former Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.

Leeds United could make a late move for Rangers’ Ryan Kent before the end of the transfer window. 

The winger has been linked with a move to Elland Road for a while now and the Daily Mail reports that Leeds are considering reigniting that interest with a late move before Thursday’s deadline.

The Yorkshire club are keeping an eye on Kent due to the fact that Tottenham Hotspur and Everton are both chasing Dan James and Jesse Marsch would be short in the area if the Wales international was not replaced, states the Daily Mail.

Could Leeds make a move for Kent?

Leeds have had a very busy summer with incoming and outgoings but the club would still like to add another striker and a left-back before the window shuts.

Kent has been on their radar for a long time, especially during Marcelo Bielsa’s reign at the club, and with less than a year left on the 25-year-old’s Rangers contract, Leeds should feel confident in bringing the Englishman to the Premier League this week.

The former Liverpool player has played 180 times for Rangers during the last four years, scoring 30 goals and assisting a further 50 for the Scottish giants.

Leeds United will not be making a move for Rangers attacker Ryan Kent this summer.

That is according to The Scotsman, who reports that the Englishman has been a long-term transfer target for the Yorkshire side but Jesse Marsch has opted for Feyenoord’s Luis Sinisterra instead, which would mean that they do not need to pursue Kent’s services in this window.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Sinisterra has agreed personal terms with Leeds ahead of a move that will see the Premier League side pay Feyenoord €25m with add-ons for the Colombian, who is likely the replacement for Raphinha, who looks set to leave the club during the current window.

How do the two Leeds targets compare?

Last season Kent played 52 matches for Rangers in all competitions. The 25-year-old scored 13 goals and assisted a further 15 for the Scottish side and helped his side reach the Europa League final last season.

As for Sinisterra, the 23-year-old played 49 times for Feyenoord in all competitions, scoring 23 goals and assisting 14 for his side. The Colombian reached the final of the Europa Conference League with the Dutch side, where they just fell short similar to Rangers.

Ranger’s winger Ryan Kent has grabbed the attention of a lot of clubs in the Premier League who could make a move for the 25-year-old in the summer. 

Leeds United are said to be one of the main clubs interested in the Englishman, having followed the player for a long time, but could have stiff competition with fellow English clubs Everton, Wolves and Fulham also linked to the Rangers man report 90min.

Kent has been one of Ranger’s best players over the last few years and is an integral part of their side. The winger has three goals and 19 assists in all competitions this season, with his most important contribution coming last Thursday night, having assisted James Tavenier for Ranger’s opener against RB Leipzig.

Kent has already played with a Premier League team in Liverpool, where he joined Rangers from back in 2019. The 25-year-old  joined the Reds academy in 2004 as a kid and went on to play just once for the Merseyside club in the FA Cup.

The Englishman is out of contract at Rangers in the summer of 2023 and the Ibrox side are likely to be keen on holding on to one of their most influential players. Rangers do not want to sell Kent but they are also concerned about losing him for free in 2023.

This uncertainty is why the Premier League clubs are circling, as they can sense a bargain with Rangers under pressure to cash in on the 25-year-old.

Understood to be being eyed by the Whites, former striker Kevin Phillips believes a potential deal could prove to be exceptional business from Andrea Radrizzani.

“He’s done a great job up there under Steven Gerrard and now Giovanni van Bronckhorst, he’s been a real star,” Phillips told Football Insider.

“If Leeds look at him as the one who can come in and take that Raphinha role, with Dan James moving over to the right, then I think that would be very good business.”

Since making his debut for the Scottish side nearly four years ago, Kent has gone on to score 30 goals and assist a further 44 in 164 games, across all competitions.

Former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has returned to the English Premier League after he opted to leave Scottish Premiership side Rangers in favour of a move to Aston Villa.
