Not even winning the treble of Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup has been enough to convince one young star to join Man City.

For all of their evident success to this point and the knowledge that the Cityzens will again be the team to beat in 2023/24, certain players aren’t swayed.

Perhaps it’s the thought of not being a confirmed starter week in and week out that stops newcomers from being persuaded that life at the Etihad Stadium is better for their careers long term.

Maybe it’s the pressure that’s associated with a club and team that is only about the winning. Anything less isn’t an option.

Whatever the reason, Football Insider report that City, along with Newcastle, Wolves and both the Milan clubs have lost out on the capture of USMNT and Fulham star, Antonee Robinson.

The 25-year-old left-back, nicknamed Jedi, had 12 months left to run on his old deal, but was clearly delighted to continue his journey with the Cottagers.

His new deal runs until 2028, and ensures that the best years of his career will be spent at Craven Cottage.

Given the level of interest in him, it’s a real coup for Fulham manager, Marco Silva, to get the deal over the line.

Sergio Gomez is Man City’s only natural left-back with Nathan Ake filling in when required.

Looking at the data above provided by DataMB, it’s easy to understand why Guardiola might be disappointed by the outcome of this one.

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing the Fulham defender Antonee Robinson.

According to a report from Daily Mail, they will face competition from Premier League champions Manchester City for the 25-year-old American international.

Robinson had an impressive season with Fulham this past year and his performances have attracted the attention of a number of clubs.

It is no secret that Newcastle will have to sign a quality full-back and Robinson could prove to be a superb acquisition.

The Magpies used Dan Burn as their left-back last season but the experienced defender is more suited to a central role.

Eddie Howe must look to bring in a specialist left-back this summer and the Fulham star seems like the ideal option.

The 25-year-old is likely to be tempted to join a big club this summer and Newcastle can offer him the opportunity to play in the Champions League.

It remains to be seen whether Newcastle or Manchester City follow up on their interest with a concrete proposal for the defender in the coming weeks.

A move to Newcastle or Manchester City would be a major step up in the 25-year-old’s career and he would get to showcase his qualities at a higher level.

Newcastle United are reportedly keen on signing the Fulham defender Antonee Robinson.

According to a report from Football Insider, the Newcastle United scouts have watched the 25-year-old defender extensively the season and they are convinced that he could be a key player for them over the coming seasons.

Newcastle are hoping to bring in a specialist left-back and the Fulham defender could prove to be a quality acquisition.

Eddie Howe has had to use Dan Burn as his left-back this season and Robinson would be a more natural fit for that role.

The United States international is likely to be tempted if Newcastle come calling at the end of the season.

The Magpies have a good chance of securing Champions League qualification and the 25-year-old will want to experience European football with them. It would be a major step up in his career.

Meanwhile, the report adds that Premier League leaders Manchester City are keen on signing the player as well.

Manchester City must pay £35m if they want to sign Fulham defender Antonee Robinson after enquiring in January.

Manchester City allowed Joao Cancelo to leave the club in January, joining Bayern Munich on loan. This has left Pep Guardiola with less options in defence, especially considering Cancelo could play on either side of defence.

Despite being one of Manchester City’s best players over the last few years, Cancelo found himself on the bench regularly over the last few months.

Now, according to The Sun, Manchester City made a late enquiry to sign Robinson during the January transfer window. The report claims that Fulham rejected the proposal, but would reportedly accept £35m.

Understandably, Fulham wouldn’t have wanted to sell Robinson towards the end of the window as it would leave them little time to find a replacement.

After being released from Everton as a youngster, Robinson has really kicked on to develop himself into a Premier League player. Everton could be regretting their decision to allow Robinson to leave considering he’s now being linked with the Champions of England.

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Antonee Robinson from Premier League rivals Fulham during the January transfer window.

That’s according to TEAMtalk, who reports that the Magpies want to bring in a left-back during the winter window and have identified the USA star as a potential target.

The 25-year-old has impressed for Fulham during the opening part of their Premier League return and showed glimpses of his quality at the World Cup also.

The left-back could be a good signing for Newcastle as they have been using centre-back Dan Burn in the position, but it might be hard to lure him away from Craven Cottage mid-season.

Robinson is also wanted by Inter Milan, states the report, but whether Fulham will want to sell the star remains to be seen.

With the Copa America and European Championship now over, teams will be straight back into the pre-season preparations for the 2021/22 campaign, with Man City and Wolves preparing to acquire a Championship defender to boost their ranks.

Both Premier League sides are casting an eye over Fulham’s America defender, Antonee Robinson, 23, according to the Daily Mirror and the Daily Mail (cited by the Daily Mirror).

The player made 24 starts out of a total of 28 appearances, as Fulham were relegated from the English top-flight, but Robinson clearly made an impression during the 2020/21 season, and may be tempted by an immediate return to the Premier League.

Apparently available for as little as £10m, his hire would represent a no brainer at that price, with the Citizens arguably able to trump any offer that the Midlanders could put on the table.

With only five weeks to go until the start of the season proper, either club would do well to get a deal over the line soonest.

A red mist in Chelsea star Mason Mount was sparked in the 43rd minute of today’s Premier League encounter against Fulham, after Antonee Robinson’s nasty challenge on Cesar Azpilicueta.

Robinson recklessly clattered Chelsea’s club captain in a 50/50 after Mount wrestled the ball off of Ademola Lookman, with the full-back rightly seeing a straight red card for his challenge.

Mount was absolutely livid after the incident, going toe-to-toe with Robinson immediately, as he grabbed the ace before they were separated.

Mount was still in Robinson’s face and clearly making his feelings known as they pushed and shoved before the left-back was shown a red card, as that happened he barged the England international away – much to his displeasure before Thiago Silva pulled him back.

Whilst Mount’s reaction was understandable, many would argue that he should’ve seen a booking for this kind of heated response and toing and froing with Robinson.

A twist to the tale at Craven Cottage, and right on the stroke of half-time, too!

Fulham were making a good account of themselves against their local rivals, who they historically have had little luck facing in the Premier League.

However, as the minutes ticked down towards the half-time whistle, Fulham’s Antonee Robinson flew into a challenge with Cesar Azpilicueta, out of control and high on the Spaniard.

Robinson was shown a straight red card, a decision which was upheld by VAR.

It’s unclear just how much contact was made with Azpilicueta, there doesn’t appear to have been any directly from his studs, but you can have little argument when you go into a challenge like that.
