Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra has been linked with a move away from the Spanish club in recent months.

A report from Tuttomercatoweb claims that a number of Premier League clubs are considering a move for the talented young midfielder and he could cost around €35-40 million.

A few weeks ago, Spanish publication Marca claimed that Newcastle United are keen on signing the 20-year-old midfielder and it remains to be seen whether the Magpies decide to make a move for him in the coming months.

Guerra is a prodigious talent with a big future ahead of him and he could develop into a key player for Newcastle in the coming seasons. He will add creativity and technical ability to the Newcastle midfield if he joins the club. Regular football in the Premier League could accelerate his development and someone like Eddie Howe could play a key role in his growth as a footballer.

The reported €35-40 million fee could prove to be a bargain if the 20-year-old manages to fulfil his potential at the Premier League club.

Newcastle could certainly use more creativity and depth in the middle of the park and the Valencia midfielder would be a superb long-term investment for them. The Magpies are one of the wealthiest clubs in the world, and they have the financial means to get the transfer across the line.

A report from Fichajes claims that the Red Devils are eyeing up a move for the 20-year-old central midfielder and they could be willing to pay around €50 million for him.

Guerra has been a key player for Valencia and he is highly-rated in Spain. The 20-year-old has established himself as a reliable performer for the Spanish club and he has three goals and an assist to his name in La Liga this season.

Manchester United could use some creativity and control in the middle of the park and Guerra would be a solid acquisition.

The Red Devils have players like Sofyan Amrabat, Casemiro and Scott McTominay at their disposal. All three players excel in the defensive elements of the game and Manchester United need a technically gifted playmaker who will help control the tempo and create attacking sequences.

Guerra could be the deep lying playmaker alongside Amrabat and Casemiro. His arrival would add some much needed balance to the side.

Valencia could be tempted to sell the player if Manchester United offer €50 million for the youngster. They are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to play for them would be hard to turn down for most players. The 20-year-old is likely to be excited as well.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can work out an agreement in the coming months. A move to Old Trafford would be a major step up for Guerra and someone like Erik ten Hag could be the ideal manager to nurture him into a star.

It seems there is nothing particularly concrete between Guerra and Man Utd or Newcastle at the moment, despite the claims of the Daily Mail, though Romano says more than five top clubs have been scouting the young midfielder.

Valencia sporting director Miguel Angel Corona has sent a clear message to any potential transfer suitors for wonderkid Javi Guerra, insisting they want to keep hold of him despite interest from the Premier League.

Manchester United and Newcastle United are reported to have taken a look at Guerra in recent times, according to the Daily Mail, with the 20-year-old midfielder clearly a top prospect with a big future in the game.

One imagines the likes of Man Utd and Newcastle would love the chance to get to work with a talent like Guerra, but it won’t be easy to negotiate with Valencia if Corona’s quotes to the Mail are anything to go by.

The piece states that Guerra has a release clause worth £86million, and that will surely be their asking price if they continue this strong stance of not looking to sell.

Discussing Guerra’s situation in the current transfer market, Valencia chief Corona said: “We are fully aware that we have a player with enormous potential for the future and the ability to perform at a good level now.

“That is why the club have decisively moved him up to the first team in recent months.

“It is not in our plans to sell him to any club.”

The name of Javi Guerra is starting to become known across Spain and Europe as a result of the 20-year-old’s performance for Valencia and it has caught the attention of Premier League duo, Man United and Newcastle.

According to Marca via Football Espana, scouts from Man United and Newcastle are now present at every game of the midfielder, as they assess one of the rising stars in Spain. Guerra has a €100m release clause in his current contract and a deal until 2027, but the report states that Valencia are already considering giving him a wage rise.

There’s no certainty on whether either Premier League side have plans to move for Guerra, but if he continues this form, it will not be long before clubs across Europe start showing more interest.

The 20-year-old’s release clause will unlikely be met but the English clubs have the financial power to bring Valencia to the negotiation table with a strong offer.

Guerra has started this season on fire, contributing three goals and an assist across six matches – four of which were starts. In Valencia’s first game of the season, a big moment involving the youngster came when he was sent on by manager Ruben Baraja and grabbed a late winner away to Sevilla.

The 20-year-old has a bright future in the sport and it is easy to see why both Premier League clubs are interested as he would be an upgrade on the likes of Scott McTominay and Sean Longstaff going forward.
