Despite the evident problems that encountered Daniel Farke when he arrived at the club, the German still took up the post willingly.

He knew from the outset the good and the bad nature of the role, but that didn’t stop him from believing that he could be the man to bring back the glory days.

So far, he has been proved right, because ahead of this weekend’s fixtures, the all whites remain in a creditable third position and on the coat-tails of the top two.

It’s a far cry from the shambolic way the club were hiring and firing managers willy-nilly during 2022/23.

Firstly Jesse Marsch, then Javi Gracia and finally, Sam Allardyce. All three of them fared equally as badly as the other, with the appointment of ‘Big Sam’ with just four matches of the season to play being a real head-scratcher.

Things could’ve been different if the club had picked up the phone to Harry Redknapp.

“I would’ve walked there (to Elland Road), I’ll be truthful, if someone would’ve asked me,” he told Kammy & Ben’s Proper Football Podcast.

“My life is good, I’m happy, but I wouldn’t be able to say no, honestly, if someone came along and said ‘Harry will you come and manage us?’ I would’ve dived head first like always and thought about it afterwards. I was never in the running for that job anyway so…”

Like Allardyce and Alan Pardew et al, Redknapp is yesterday’s man and belongs in a different football era altogether.

It’s amost certain that the Leeds faithful wouldn’t have been that accepting of a 76-year-old manager whose best days are well behind him.

Harry Redknapp, the former Tottenham manager, has made a bold prediction, tipping Manchester United to win the Premier League title in the upcoming season. Despite Manchester City’s historic treble-winning campaign last season and their strong summer signings, Redknapp believes it will be United who will come out on top.

Redknapp praised United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, for his excellent work in his first season with the club and highlighted the team’s good summer transfer activity. He particularly praised the addition of Mason Mount to the midfield and Andre Onana as one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

Redknapp also expressed optimism about the potential of Rasmus Hojlund, who he sees as a promising new striker for the team. He acknowledged that while Marcus Rashford had a fantastic season, United had long been in need of a reliable goalscoring center-forward, and Hojlund might be the answer.

Although Redknapp admitted he would have fancied United even more had they secured the signing of Harry Kane from Tottenham, he still considers United as “fantastic value” and a real threat to every team in the Premier League this season. His prediction adds to the excitement and anticipation as the new season approaches.

In his column for the The Sun, he wrote:

“While it wouldn’t be the greatest surprise to see Arsenal as champions, I’m actually tipping the Premier League to stay in Manchester. Just not with the team everyone thinks.”

“Erik ten Hag did a great job in his first season at United and he’s another who has had a decent summer in the market.”

“I’ve always liked Mason Mount and he is a great addition to the midfield while Andre Onana is one of the best keepers in the world.”

“Rasmus Hojlund might not have been their first choice for a new striker at the start of the summer but he looks a great prospect.”

“As good a season Marcus Rashford had last time, United have been after a goalscoring centre-forward for ages. This lad could be the answer.”

“I must admit, I’d fancy them even more if they’d have gone out and spent £100million on Harry Kane.”

“That would have been very hard for Daniel Levy to turn down.”

“I think United are fantastic value and in my book they will be a real threat to everyone this season.”

It certainly is a bold prediction from Harry Redknapp. While United have made great progress under Erik ten Hag and have made a couple of decent singings this transfer window, they are still quite behind Manchester City and perhaps even Arsenal in terms of quality.

Arsenal have had brilliant transfer window on the back of a stunning season and they are certainly going to serious title contenders as well. They have already had one over City as they beat them in the Community Shield on Sunday.

Harry Redknapp believes Harry Kane could follow Mauricio Pochettino to Chelsea as the Argentine gets closer to becoming Blues boss.

Pochettino is set to be announced as Chelsea’s new manager very soon and this has led to some albeit far-fetched rumours that Kane could follow his former boss to Stamford Bridge.

Now, ex-Spurs boss of four years Harry Redknapp has given some Chelsea fans hope of Kane joining their team, saying to the Beyond the Pitch Podcast: “It will be interesting if Pochettino goes to Chelsea.

That wouldn’t go down well with the Tottenham fans at all that’s for sure. It’s a great move for him and I think Kane’s building a house in that area. He’s a family man and he’d be happier not moving to the north of England or wherever he’d have to go.”

Kane has been in the Tottenham first team for ten seasons

However, Kane’s loyalty to Tottenham has been nothing short of amazing and Redknapp does think that it wouldn’t be surprising to see the 29-year old extend his stay at Spurs come the end of the season.

I’ve personally got a feeling he’ll stay and sign a new contract. I may be wrong but I think he could stay at Tottenham.”

Kane has kept very quiet on his future, so nobody is any the wiser as to where he could end up. As a result, it promises to be a very interesting saga surrounding his next destination – if he does decide to move on from Spurs – this summer.

There are still nine games for Tottenham to play before the end of their 2022/23 Premier League campaign so a potential 27 points are up for grabs, however, the way that the teams around them are playing suggests that a finish in the Champions League positions could be hard to come by.

The north Londoners find themselves in fifth position and just three points behind Newcastle and Man United in third and fourth place, albeit the pair have a game in hand on Spurs.

Managerial upheaval and the removal of Fabio Paratici as managing director of football because of a worldwide ban, detailed by The Athletic (subscription required), can’t have helped to keep things on an even keel at White Hart Lane, with the first-team flattering to deceive on the pitch.

Only one win in the last six in all competitions per WhoScored hints at the issues facing the club at present.

Whilst not a crisis as such, it does give Daniel Levy a nod to what he needs to do in order to help the club get back to challenging for every trophy.

A first-class managerial appointment aside, player transfers have to be spot on this summer, and former Tottenham manager, Harry Redknapp, has suggested that his old club could do no worse than re-signing Real Madrid’s Luka Modric.

Speaking on talkSPORT’s Breakfast show, Redknapp said: “They haven’t got a Luka Modric […] if he don’t sign his contract at Real Madrid, what a player he’d be for two seasons […] you’d take him all day long.”

After the way in which the Antonio Conte era ended at Tottenham Hotspur, Daniel Levy has to get things exactly right in terms of his next managerial appointment, and it could be that he hires someone who was once his ‘preferred choice’ for the role.

Given the high-profile nature of the position at White Hart Lane, only a select few managers would appear to be right for the position, and to that end it would be understandable for the likes of Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino to be approached.

Former manager, Pochettino, might not be available for long, however, as The Times report the interest from Real Madrid in potentially acquiring his services.

There’s also the notion that you should ‘never go back’ to a previous club, arguably because it’s harder to replicate what may have gone before.

Perhaps with that in mind, according to Football Insider, Levy may be prepared to approach Brendan Rodgers, recently relieved of his duties by Leicester City.

Brendan Rodgers

The outlet note a source as suggesting that Rodgers was Levy’s ‘preferred choice’ of manager when he was going to sack Harry Redknapp, only for Rodgers to take the Liverpool job.

Furthermore, Levy has apparently admired Rodgers since his Swansea days, and given that he’s now free to go where he wishes with no compensation payment to be made, the former Foxes boss is therefore an attractive proposition.

Not to mention his experience at the top level in the Premier League and his exciting way of playing football.

He certainly ticks all the right boxes for the north Londoners and time will tell if he ends up being the man to take the reins.

Harry Redknapp has admitted he could return to football management if Tottenham ask him to replace Antonio Conte before the end of the season.

Despite sitting 4th in the Premier League, the mood around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is at an all-time low, especially after Conte’s scathing comments about the team following his side’s 3-3 draw with Southampton on Saturday.

Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday that discussions were taking place at Tottenham to relieve Conte of his duties at Tottenham and Redknapp has come out to say that he wouldn’t be opposed to returning to the Lilywhites dugout.

The 76-year old retired from management in 2017 but has told Talksport that he could make a comeback.

If someone asks you, I think it would be hard to say no, I’ll be truthful. When you love it, you do find it hard to say no.

Redknapp managed Tottenham from 2008 to 2012.

It’s not the money, it’s the challenge, you love it, the buzz of it, winning a game is a fantastic feeling. It’s hard to say no.”

This isn’t the first instance of Redknapp hinting at a comeback, with the former Spurs boss saying he may come out of retirement amid the news of Jesse Marsch’s sacking at Leeds back in February.

Conte hasn’t been sacked just yet, but don’t be surprised if Redknapp comes in to steady the Spurs ship until the end of the season.

Tottenham were knocked out of the FA Cup on Wednesday night by Sheffield United and former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp believes Harry Kane will now be having doubts over his future at the North London club.

The striker is out of contract with the club in 2024 and if Spurs want to bring in good money for the England star then this summer would be the best time to sell the 29-year-old.

Kane has dreamed about delivering a trophy to Tottenham fans but that seemed to slip away on Wednesday as a Champions League victory this season is very unlikely.

If the striker wants to add medals to his career then a move this summer should be on the cards and former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes the Spurs superstar will now be thinking about leaving the North London club.

Harry Kane to leave Tottenham?

Harry Redknapp believes Harry Kane will be thinking about a summer move

“I looked at his face last night as he walked off the pitch and he looked very low,” Redknapp told talkSPORT.

“He must have thought, my god, what’s going on here? He’s on the bench, he doesn’t start the game. You’re taking a gamble.

“They should have gone for it last night and Harry should be starting the game surely?

“I fancied Spurs to win the cup this year. I looked at it and thought this could be their year.

“With what’s left in [teams still in the FA Cup], [it was a] great chance. You look at the draw last night. I thought Tottenham would go all the way but it was a poor result.

“But he looked low last night and maybe he’s thinking to himself it looks like I’m never gonna win a trophy here.”

Leeds United recently parted ways with Jesse Marsch as the club’s manager following a series of disappointing results.

The Premier League side have been linked with a number of managers as they continue to search for a quality replacement for the American manager.

Popular pundit and former Premier League player Graeme Souness has now urged Leeds to appoint Harry Redknapp or Sam Allardyce as their next manager.

He believes that the two could prove to be an impressive short-term fix at Elland Road and they could help Leeds beat relegation this season.

“You are looking at Leeds and others down there, considering candidates who’ve not been involved in our game and who will need time to understand its demands,” Souness wrote in his column for the Daily Mail.

“And by the time they get it – if, indeed, they do get it – it could already be too late. So, why not a Harry Redknapp or a Sam Allardyce, even as a short-term fix?

“You need someone who knows the territory, so there are no surprises. I come back to it: there are no new ways of playing our game.”

The Whites are currently 17th in the league table and they will need to improve their results in the coming weeks if they want to stay in the Premier League next season.

Redknapp and Allardyce are hugely experienced when it comes to managing clubs under pressure and they could make a big impact at Elland Road. A short-term fix until the summer will also allow Leeds more time to search for a long-term solution.

Plenty of top managers prefer taking new jobs before a new season starts as opposed to joining midway. Leeds could have more options at their disposal in the summer.

According to TalkSport, Harry Redknapp has admitted that he is ready to take the Leeds United job.

Recent reports linked him to the job at Elland Road, and in an appearance on TalkSport’s breakfast show, the former Spurs manager said that he would be willing to take on the job for no wage, with a bonus for helping the team avoid relegation.

However, he did mention that he couldn’t start immediately due to the coinciding of Cheltenham week, which he wouldn’t want to miss.

He said (quotes via MOT):

“I would do it but it coincides with Cheltenham week and I can’t miss Cheltenham. ”

“I really can’t do it, I can’t give that up.

“But if someone asked me to go in, I’d go in with no wage just bonus for keeping them up. That’s the move.”

Harry Redknapp to Leeds?

Redknapp’s comments come after Leeds sacked their former manager, Jesse Marsch, and have been linked with several other candidates, including Rayo Vallecano’s Andoni Iraola and Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou.

With Leeds currently sitting in 17th place on the table, just one point ahead of 18th-placed Everton, someone with Premier League experience like Harry Redknapp might be a good short-term option to use his knowledge and experience to help the team avoid relegation.

Ray Parlour has tipped Harry Redknapp to become the new manager of Leeds United.

Leeds United are without a manager after sacking American Jesse Marsch earlier this month.

They look set to face Everton this weekend without a new manager being appointed, but The Mirror have claimed that Redknapp has told Leeds he is ready to take over.

Former Arsenal midfielder Parlour has claimed that it would be unbelievable if Redknapp was to be appointed as Leeds manager.

“That would be unbelievable, back in the game. I just think that he would get the best out of players. He would have good coaching staff around him as well,” said Parlour on talkSPORT.
