As many as eight big names at Leicester City could reportedly be on their way out of the club in the not too distant future, according to a report from Football League World.

The Foxes are currently top of the Championship, making a strong start to life back in English football’s second tier after their relegation from the Premier League last season.

It might not be long before we see Leicester back in the top flight, but for now there’s serious doubt over a number of their biggest names.

According to the Football League World’s report, the right players facing uncertain futures are Jamie Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi, Jannik Vestergaard, Marc Albrighton, Dennis Praet, Alex Smithies and Wanya Marcal.

If Aston Villa can continue in the current campaign as well as they’ve begun it, Unai Emery will be lauded for the brilliant job that he will have done.

Fifth in the Premier League table at the time of writing, they are playing as well as at any time over the past few years, and are certainly a more together outfit than when Steven Gerrard took them over.

There’s little doubt that the players can now appreciate what Emery has tried to implement, and the results are being seen on the pitch week in and week out.

That doesn’t mean that the club won’t look to improve in all areas come January.

Many of the big football clubs almost always seem to do their best business whilst they’re at the top of their game, not when they’re on a downward spiral. Proactive rather than reactive for want of a better term.

To that end, TeamTalk are reporting that Villa are showing an interest in Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi.

The midfielder, who has made 192 Premier League appearances per the official Premier League website, is also being tracked by Tottenham, Newcastle, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Lyon and Monaco according to the outlet.

With his contract up at the end of the season, he’s likely to come a little cheaper than normal, and at 26 years of age, he still has a number of years left in the game.

Villa might consider themselves the favourites for his signature despite the competition, given that the player wouldn’t necessarily have to uproot in order to play for them.

Leicester City fear key duo leaving the club in January

Leicester City are battling to keep hold of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho ahead of the January transfer window.

That is according to TEAMtalk, who reports that Leicester could be forced into letting the duo go if they cannot tie them down to fresh terms before then as their contracts expire at the end of the season.

This means the Foxes could lose them for free next summer, with January being the last chance to bring in a transfer fee for both stars.

TEAMtalk states that Ndidi is in demand with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid having enquired about the midfielder, while Lyon and Monaco are also keen to bring him to France. There is also interest from the Premier League with Tottenham, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Brentford amongst those who are considering a January move for the Leicester star.

Both Ndidi and Iheanacho are key players for Leicester and with their push for a return to the Premier League going great so far, the Foxes will not want to lose any player midway through the campaign as it could derail their promotion charge.

The Nigeria international has looked back to his best for the Foxes this term, reminding everyone what he’s capable of with some strong displays in the Championship.

Barcelona doesn’t necessarily seem like the most obvious destination for a player like Ndidi, but it seems the Catalan giants are considering him as a cheap option for their squad.

Bayern Munich have made Leicester City midfielder Wilfred Ndidi a top target as per Fussballtransfers.

The Nigerian was strongly linked with a move away from the relegated Premier League club in the summer with the likes of Nottingham Forest and Liverpool reportedly interested in him then.

He ended up staying at Leicester City but has already been linked with a move away in January,

As per the report, Bayern Munich have expressed interest in signing him after missing out on Fulham’s Joao Palhinha in the latter stages of the summer window. The player would reportedly like to play for Thomas Tuchel as well.

With the Turkish transfer window still open, Fenerbahce are determined to land one Leicester player by the deadline – and he seems keen on the switch too.

The Foxes have started life back in the Championship well, and currently sit in third place just one point behind leaders, Preston North End.

That’s despite new manager, Enzo Maresca, having to cope with the departures of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Youri Tielemans in the summer.

Whilst there’s a long, long way to go until the end of the 2023/24 campaign, the fact that the players in situ are responding to Maresca’s methods is encouraging.

One who has started most of the Foxes games this season might not be doing so for much longer, however.

According to Gazete Vatan, Wilfred Ndidi is open to Fenerbahce’s approach and is looking to move, though at such a late stage of the window it’s impossible to predict if there’s enough time left to get a deal over the line.

The outlet also state that Leicester themselves are looking to get some money in from any sale, given that his contract with the club ends in 12 months time and therefore, this is likely to be the last chance that they’re able to profit from any sale.

Though it undoubtedly makes Maresca’s job more difficult given the timing, if the money is reinvested into the squad in January, Ndidi’s move might work out well for all concerned in the end.

Liverpool are reportedly investigating if they can make another late move for a midfielder in this summer’s transfer window.

The Reds have lost five midfield players this summer, with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho leaving for Saudi Pro League clubs, while Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain left on free transfers.

Although Liverpool have signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Wataru Endo, there is probably still room for another addition to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

According to the Independent, one surprise option could be a move for Wilfred Ndidi from relegated Leicester City.

The Nigeria international has had some fine moments in his King Power Stadium career, though his form last season wasn’t the best as the Foxes got relegated.
