It has been a positive start to the season for Crystal Palace with Roy Hodgson’s team sitting in ninth position in the Premier League and that comes after failing to sign a new striker ahead of the new campaign. 

The Eagles failed to bring one in over the summer despite losing their biggest attacking threat in the form of Wilfried Zaha but Odsonne Édouard has stepped up for the London club scoring four goals across Palace’s opening five matches.

According to the Evening Standard, a star Crystal Palace were interested in signing over the summer was Southampton’s Che Adams, who signed for the Saints for just £15m in 2019.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, journalist Dean Jones has suggested that internally, Palace have no regrets about not bringing Adams to Selhurst Park and that the London club are comfortable with what they have.

Jones said: “Speaking to people around Palace they’re okay with the situation in terms of not getting Che Adams .

“Obviously he was someone they did have interest in but they feel like they’re actually reasonably well set for the season. They’re quite comfortable in their performances.

“You know, they’re obviously not setting the world on fire but there’s every confidence that they can finish close to mid-table which is fine by the standards they have set for them. So I do wonder if Crystal Palace will still go back into the market in January for a forward player. But at the moment they’re saying no regrets over over Che Adams.”

Everton are hoping to sign the Southampton striker Che Adams this summer.

The Toffees need to add more attacking quality and depth to their side and the 27-year-old could prove to be a quality acquisition.

A report from the Athletic claims that Everton have already submitted a £12 million offer for the striker and there is confidence between both parties that a deal could be done.

Adams is in the final year of his contract with Southampton and the recently relegated club will not want to lose him on a free transfer next year. It makes sense for them to cash in on him now and invest the proceeds into the playing squad.

Everton have been fighting relegation battles over the last two seasons and they will be aiming to finish closer to the top of the season. They need to add more goals to their side and Adams should prove to be a useful acquisition.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has had his fair share of injury problems over the past year and the England international striker clearly needs more support in the attack. Adams could form a quality partnership with Calvert-Lewin in the attack.

Adams scored 10 goals in the Premier League last season and he could make an immediate impact at Goodison Park. The 27-year-old will not want to stay in the Championship and the opportunity to move to the top flight will be tempting for him.

West Ham United have been handed a major boost ahead of their Premier League showdown against Southampton.

The two clubs are currently involved in the relegation battle and the match is being dubbed a relegation six-pointer. A win over Southampton could be a major boost for the Hammers and the Saints have now been dealt a major injury blow.

Star striker Che Adams picked up a knock during the international break with Scotland and his absence would be a devastating blow for Southampton.

The Saints are currently at the bottom of the league table and they will hope to have their star player back in action soon.

Southampton are already without the services of Jan Bednarek and Armel Bella-Kotchap due to injuries.

It will be interesting to see if West Ham can take advantage of the situation and grind out a priceless three points over Southampton. The two sides will meet on the 2nd of April.

Meanwhile, Leeds United were handed a major injury blow as well with star forward Wilfried Gnonto going off the pitch with an ankle injury. Defender Max Wober picked up a muscle injury during the international break as well.

The Hammers have had a dismal campaign in the league but they have impressed in the European competitions. David Moyes’s side are currently in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Europa conference league.

Leeds United could increase their chances of signing Southampton forward Che Adams this summer as long as they stay up.

Southampton are one of the favourites to be relegated at the moment, whereas Leeds could probably still save themselves with a slight improvement in the next few games.

Discussing how this might impact transfers at both clubs, Pete O’Rourke told Give Me Sport that it could boost Leeds’ chances of raiding the Saints for Adams.

“Yeah, we obviously know Leeds have had a long-term interest in Adams. They tried previously to sign him but he’s remained at Southampton,” O’Rourke said.

Everton are reportedly interested in signing the Southampton attacker Che Adams.

A report from Football Insider claims that the 26-year-old could leave Southampton at the end of the season if the Saints are relegated.

Apparently, Everton and Lees are hoping to sign the player and it remains to be seen how the situation develops.

Southampton are currently fighting for their survival and they will be hoping to preserve their status as a Premier League club. They will have to improve immensely in the coming weeks if they want to beat the drop this season.

Adams has 9 goals and 3 assists to his name across all competitions this season and he could prove to be a quality acquisition for Everton who are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has not been at his best this season and summer signing Neal Maupay has failed to hit the ground running.

Sean Dyche must look to invest in a quality striker at the end of the season and Adams could be available for a reasonable price. That is 26-year-old will have just 12 months left on his deal at Southampton in the summer and the Saints could be under pressure to cash in on him.

They will not want to lose the striker on a free transfer in 2024 and it makes sense to sell him in the coming months if he does not sign an extension with them.

Meanwhile, Leeds could use another goal scorer as well especially with Patrick Bamford failing to find the back of the net consistently. Adams has considerable Premier League experience and he could make an immediate impact at Everton or Leeds United next season.

With just 29 goals scored this season, it’s clear where Leeds United’s problems lie, so it isn’t a surprise to learn that the Yorkshire-based outfit are on the lookout for more firepower.

What is perhaps a surprise is such a low goals output when you consider the club have the likes of Wilfried Gnonto, Rodrigo, Georginio Rutter and Patrick Bamford in situ.

Bamford has struggled with injuries of course, however, most clubs would show interest in at least two of the other three if they were available.

That might end up being the case if Leeds’ strikers can’t find the net on a more regular basis between now and the end of the season, and the lack of goals is likely to be the reason why manager, Javi Gracia, has given the green light to the club’s pursuit of a 101-goal merchant.

Much is likely to depend on whether the club remain in the English top-flight too.

At this stage Leeds are only out of the bottom three on goal difference, and only one point from being rock bottom of the table.

Fixtures against Arsenal, Tottenham, Newcastle, Liverpool and Man City amongst others doesn’t make their task any easier, but with the clubs around them having a similar tough run in, there’s a reasonable chance they’ll stay up.

Southampton are currently joint bottom of the pile, and it’s their Che Adams that’s being targeted according to Football Insider, who go as far to say Leeds would sign him ‘in a heartbeat’ if the Saints do indeed go down.

Everton are reportedly interested in signing the Southampton striker Che Adams before the January transfer window closes.

It has been a disappointing season for Everton so far and they are currently 19th in the league table. The attack has been a major concern for the Toffees this season and they have scored just 15 goals in 20 league matches. To put it in context, only Wolverhampton Wanderers have scored fewer goals in the league this season.

It is evident that Everton need to sign a quality goalscorer this month and Adams could prove to be a smart acquisition.

The 26-year-old has scored 8 goals across all competitions for Southampton this season and it remains to be seen whether the Saints are prepared to sanction his departure midway through the campaign.

The player has a contract with Southampton until the summer of 2024 and therefore the Saints are under no pressure to cash in on him just yet. It will be interesting to see if Everton can come forward with a lucrative offer and attempt Southampton into selling their star striker.

Garth Crooks has picked his latest Premier League team of the week, featuring the hugely impressive Lisandro Martinez after his strong performance for Manchester United in their 2-1 win over Liverpool.

The Argentina international has been a little slow to get going since moving to Man Utd from Ajax this summer, but we finally saw the best of him as he stifled one Liverpool attack after another at Old Trafford last night.

It was also a good weekend for Arsenal, with both Martin Odegaard and William Saliba in the line up after their goals and generally strong performances in the 3-0 win away to Bournemouth.

Southampton are level at the King Power Stadium after a well-worked throw-in routine was finished off by Che Adams. 

The Saints found themselves 1-0 down after a James Maddison goal put the home side ahead but 14 minutes later the match was levelled at 1-1.

The goal came from a Southampton throw-in which landed at the feet of Armel Bella-Kotchap, the centre-back laid the ball off perfectly to striker Che Adams, who then finished past Danny Ward in the Leicester goal.
